This sterling silver tea caddy spoon was made in 1971 by the Birmingham silver workshop David Hollander & Son.
Its fluted shell bowl, inspired by the 18th-century Georgian style from an era when tea was precious, is paired with a shell-shaped handle accented with Rococo scrollwork. The neck is clearly stamped with Birmingham’s anchor mark, the sterling silver lion passant, and the “W” hallmark denoting 1971, adding a distinctive touch to the design.
Its 21 g weight gives it a satisfying heft in the hand. There are some fine scratches from age, but it is in good condition, with no noticeable damage or distortion. Why not pair it with your favorite tea caddy and add a touch of elegance to your daily tea time?
