Antique Escasany Hnos Hunter-Case Engraved 800 Silver Open-Face Pocket Watch, Good Working Order

This is a Swiss-made 800 silver open-face pocket watch handled by Escasany Hnos (Escasany Brothers), a prestigious jeweler and watch dealer in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in the early 20th century.

The gold-tone dial features a wave-patterned guilloché finish, the name “DIANA,” after the goddess of the hunt, and classic Breguet numerals. The case back features a striking, three-dimensional high-relief depiction of two hunters aiming their rifles from behind a fallen tree in the woods.

The dial shows signs of age, and the crystal and case have scuffs and wear along the edges, but the movement is running well. This would be a lovely piece to display on a study desk and enjoy telling time with, much like admiring a sculptural work of art.
