Antique Floral Repoussé Sterling Silver Vest Case 24g

This is a solid silver vesta case (portable matchbox) estimated to have been produced between the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

Both sides feature deep relief-carved Rococo-style C-scroll patterns and delicate small flowers, created using the "repoussé" technique, where metal is hammered from the back to achieve a three-dimensional effect. The cartouche in the center of one side is engraved with a flowing, hand-carved monogram, reflecting the care taken by its original owner. The bottom features a serrated striker for lighting matches.

While no hallmarks are visible due to age, testing has confirmed it is made of solid silver. Although there are small splits on the corners of the base and overall fine surface wear, the lid opens and closes smoothly.
